Open Call: Urban Bites - Artistic Performances for Food Sustainability, Deadline: 3 May 2026

The open call “Urban Bites: Artistic Performances for Food Sustainability” launches its second edition, inviting professionals from the creative sector/artists, and civil society organisations to submit proposals for public art performances aimed at raising awareness on food sustainability.


The initiative focuses on themes such as urban food harvesting, consumption, recycling, and food waste, promoting the temporary transformation of public spaces.


Projects must be developed in co-creation with creative sector professionals/artists aged between 18 and 35 years old. However, the person or organisation submitting the application does not need to belong to this age group.


The call is open at the European level, and the proposed actions should be implemented in one of the six target cities: Milan, Almere, Barcelona, Brașov, Lisbon Metropolitan Area, and Thessaloniki. The open call aims to support at least one proposal per city.


Eligible entities:

  • Civil Society Organisations (CSOs)
  • Informal groups (including artists and creative sector professionals)


A total of 10 grants of €5,000 each will be awarded.


All applicants are strongly encouraged to carefully read the Guidelines before submitting their proposal.

RESULTS | Open Call: Urban Bites - Artistic Performances for Food Sustainability, 2026

Rede DLBC Lisboa announces the results of the 2026 international Open Call “Urban Bites: Artistic Performances for Food Sustainability”, which invited Artists, Informal Groups and Civil Society Organisations to submit proposals for artistic performances in public space, with the aim of raising awareness of healthy and sustainable food. The initiative is part of the project “Feed Your Future – Engaging Youth for Creative Climate Action”, funded by the EU CREA Programme, coordinated by the Municipality of Milan and implemented by a consortium of eight partners, including Rede DLBC Lisboa in Portugal.The Open Call was open from 18 March to 3 May 2026 and received 28 applications from across Europe. The evaluation process was conducted by the Sub-Granting Committee, composed of five jury members.The list of the 10 selected applications can be consulted in the Final Evaluation Report, available in the “Related Documentation” section.
